Just left park point with 5-150qt cooler and med size cube cooler. It was a great night! The run really picked up around midnight and we stopped cause cant fill anymore. Not sure how others did along the shoreline but i was at the field/school lot which is past the tot lot about 1mi or so.

Outdoorsman I'm new here but I think that's going to depend a lot on getting some more rain between now and then

Had a good run last night by the airport. Go out there while it's hot.

It was running pretty hard last night. 100 yards from tot lot. We filled 6-7 coolers and we're averaging 3-5 gallons a pull after midnight.
Had a blast and the weather was gorgeous. Good luck smelting for those who haven't had the chance to get out. I would imagine they would run through the weekend and slow from there.
Time to hang up the wader. Enjoy!

I had to do a double take when I found the little smelt in our bucket. Maybe its just because we were using a seine with smaller mesh, maybe its common, but I cant remember catching small one like this before.

hows this friday looking for the lester and where is park point?i have relatives in duluth area so thinking about making the trek up from st paul this weekend, possibly friday after work.did the lester a few years back but got skunked.read here you can catch the in the lake at park point with a long net which i'm accustomed to in lake superior in the ontonagon area which we always got quite a few at a mouth a river.at park point do you just go out on the beach as far as you can in your chest waders and dip like that, don't have a net so just wondering.
