We are at the break wall. With walker..big andy...kevin...Mike...mike..vee...and many more. We have 4 coolers full. Many more 5 gallon pails. Best pull was 10 gallons. Lots of 5 gallons but mostly 2 or 3 gallons at time. Things are slowing down now. Only a gallon at a time now. Lots of friends will love me soon. Still mostly males. The mother load is still do.

Well things picked back up. Neighbors brought in a 30 gallon pull. Unbelievable! Averaging about 5 gallons per.

I read on here a few days ago that is legal to sell smelt. Is there much of a market for them? who buys them?

Went out by the airport last night. We got about 5 gallons then called it quits because our waders were full of holes and we were freezing our butts off

We had a pretty good time last night. The beach was alive with smelters and smelt! Some massive quantities were harvested last night! Biggest pull was 30ish gallons! The group next to us has 3 giant coolers full when we were leaving with our pile. I'm not sure how they planned on moving them, had be 200+ lbs each! We had a great time! We had Kevin with his son Mike, and son in law Mike, Brent, Walker and a friend, Even LaoDude was next to us. Vee made his final trip of the season and shared our spot, lots of fun! And Big Andy made it to the party, he got to pull my seine with my back rope. He really enjoyed that, I'm sure his nets will have them soon. The only guy missing was Kevin's brother Tom! I guess pictures are good enough for him... you are welcome anytime!!!! I also got a personal message from a reliable source that the Lester busted loose last night! They were catching by hand... there were that many in the river and now their freezer is full! Just go buy that 2nd one... On a side note, 19 out of 20 were still males. Oh the bonanza that is still coming!!!!!! I'm thinking that this will be an epic week....Thanks for the fun last night boys!!!! Attachments:

Here's my take, I'm pretty sure that this week will be nuts on PP. The mother load of females is due any day. And when they come it will be awesome. Likely in the next 2-4 days. Things will continue to be good and slowly fade after that, so I think folks could be catching smelt somewhere on the point for another 7-10 days.
The Lester is going to be a crap shoot this year I think. The water is slowing and dropping again with no rain. And last night was the 1st good report that we've had. So it's hard to say how it will go for the next few days there. But I'm sure it will have some solid pushes that will satisfy the dippers out there. You will just need to be lucky enough to be there when they come. Not sure how the weekend will go yet. The next few days will help determine that. Good Luck everyone!

These were the giant cooler dominodaves was talking about. They brought in a dolly to transport it to their car. It was quite a feat for them lifting it over the wall. Last night we were the last one out of the water at the wall. It was around 3ish, on our last 2 pull it was 10 then 4 so we call it a night. Had a blast with all the smelter, thanks dominodaves for the smelting advice.
