Greetings all!
Looks like the smelt should be early this year. I hate to say it, but that will make for a challenging year to predict the run. It will likely be a start and stop season. Or, they were here last night, and the conditions are perfect, where'd they go? Which can be very frustrating!
I'm sure looking forward to some fresh smelt!

I'm thinking 2 nice days might turn them on.

I'm thinking 2 nice days might turn them on. But a quick look at the weather forecast shows those two nice days in a row don't look very likely for at least a couple of weeks.

Would this be a record for the earliest possible season? (Early March) My smelt memory is letting me down,

I believe it would be a record. I can't ever remember catching any smelt in March. April 2nd or so yes.

It is a good weekend to go up and do some drinking and womanizing and get ready for the run! It will be April at the earliest with the way the forcast is looking......

I bet the last week in March we will be getting some somewhere.
Unless we have some kind of weather reversal!

Better hope we get either big storms or snow, the creeks and rivers are blocked from superior.
