Just wrapped up. Waves were treacherous. Would've been good if it were calmer. Ended up with 3 5gal buckets for just 2 guys. Best pull was half a bucket but them waves tho.... walked back to the car soak n wet but what can you say, it's part of the experience. This weekend should still be good.

So is Wisconsin Point smeltable or not? Is the ice gone from Park Point on Duluth side?

A lot of males is either the beginning or the end...but even the end lasts over a week on the point typically...for how many eggs were on Lester rocks a couple days ago in my opinion theres no way the beach run just started..my guess is some bypassed the beach to drop elsewhere...

I just got a pic sent to me of PP from bgood. The entire beach looks to be clear of ice. Not sure about the airport area down at the end by the park. But the piles on WI point cam appear to be gone as well. so I'd bet that it's gone there as well.
For those of you who are concerned that we have missed the run on PP...don't be! The run in the rivers was just starting to ramp up before the 10 inches of snow fell and put a couple day damper on things. So we are only off by 5 or 6 days. So things could get compressed into a shorter window and be great! And with the sun out, and winds that are supposed to shift to the south, and temps recover, that water will be primed in a hurry and the smelt will make their run into the beaches! It could be epic or blah, but I doubt that...there will success! And the reports have been that they are staging off the beaches, and the dropnetters have been doing good off the canals breakwall, albeit not legally.
So have some confidence, be mobile and don't get too attached to one spot if things aren't producing. Let the seining begin! WooHoo!!!

Nows the time to use those seines. Glad we went up last night. Had a really good feeling and it sure did pay off. Everywhere seems to be clear of ice and believe it or not the water temp didn't feel cold at all so it's definitely the perfect conditions weather permitting. Let everyone slay.........

Got three coolers last night by breakwall. Waves were brutal. Got pretty beat up. Best pull filled two buckets. Drop netters did pretty good as well.

Thanks for the update everyone! I’m glad PP is back in play. Based on wave projections, tomorrow night and Sunday night would be ideal as wave will be 1 foot and winding down.
