Thanks for posting a few pics! And yes, last night was a killer night on PP near the airport. It might even have been another one of Oldstars Prom nights! Lots of giggling, hooting and hollaring, and moaning too! The smelt were in and most of our backs were out by the end of the night! Yes, the smelt won! The previous posts were correct. It started out decent, then it just kept getting better and better. Tim and Raquel joined us late, they got all they could carry as well. The pulls really did get as high as 5+ gallon pulls! Which is what we hope for every time we go! Here's my thoughts on the state of the run. I too believe we are at or near the peak. The weather has been very stabile. The winds have been cooperating. The cool air at night hasn't been cold enough to cool the water much and the highs aren't making it too warm either. So we are in the sweet spot right now. The rivers are doing well too. I would expect the run to stay near the top of this peak for a few more days before slowing down into next week. How long it hangs on is only a guess right now...so don't wait! Because a big change in the wind direction could make the beach not much fun! So like they're saying! Get out there and enjoy the Peak! it won't last forever! Btw....how that body feeling today Sandburr??? LOL!!! The pics above are Sandburr, and Tim, myself and Raquel. I had 2 hours and 15 minutes of sleep last night and am sitting at work. Whatever kicked by foots butt is gone! Thank you Advil. My back and arms are just lose noodles at this point. I did wake up smiling...

What a year! Ashland/Wis point/MN have all produce a great year and it's still going strong. Like Dave said get out there before the winds of change kicks in. I know many people on certain rivers leaving with 30 plus buckets full!!!

I was out Monday on PP and it was d**n good, great calm seas! Very steady for us, nothing huge over 4 gal, but 1-4 for hours. We took about 60 gal. with 2 nets and 6-8 people. Its switching to majority female. I think this weekend will be my last blast. Then back to the bar.

Was out Sunday, got a full cooler, will try again today, but the waves seem to be coming in with winds blowing from the east... The weather forecast for this weekend doesn't look to good either. Think it might be over soon? Or should pick up again next week after the rains?

Wind looks bad for the beach till atlest Saturday, boys tried a few pulls last night and got nothing. Hit the rivers this week or just troll the bars and find some hot broads. I think it will be over next week, but you can net a few steelhead if your lucky.

Lester started out slow last night, but after 1am run picked up pretty good. Filled up a 5 gallon pail in about an hour. They were still running good when we left at 2am.

With all the rain, dipping has been hard. Pretty much making it season over on the rivers. Have not checked the beaches yet but Don't see much reports.

rivers are running fast, waves are high and the run is dying off. I think its over boys. But it was a long strong run! We got alot of smelt this year and the boys are happy with the haul. Time to take the profits and invest them in the local tverns and some quality snatch! Happy hunting!

Anyone check out the shores lately? Run on the beach was short lived due to crazy rollers. Seemed to have calm today. Hope it ain't over yet.
