Anyone know where they sell seine or dip nets near the twin cities? I'd like to buy one.

Joe's Sporting goods had the Frabil 15 foot seines few weeks back. Call first though.
Fleet Farm is suppose to have the Frabils but seems they never got the in when I wanted one.
As far as Dip nets go, I have not found any of those anywhere but on the internet.

I think it is 24 inch diameter. Read it couple weeks ago off DNR site.

I am not sure you can use them but don't take my word on that. The DNR regs only say seine or dip net.
I asked two DNR offices about cast nets, one said no and the other kept repeating seine or dip. Would not actually say anything about cast net.
I would think the a drop net could only be 4 foot max in one directions same as a seine but could be longer in the other directions.
I know seines can only be 4x25 foot max but looks like there are a lot of people useing bigger then that.
This is for Minnesota, Wisc has different regs.
Hope that helps some.

If you are going for smelt in Superior I strongly STRONGLY recommend do not purchase any net unless it is at least 4' I was out with a frabill 2 nights ago (my Dad had my Christiansen) The frabill after I cable tied a chain to the bottom for weight because the weights are a joke. as the waves came in(which weren't even really waves) there was not enough slack off the floats so the net was raised up in the middle on each wave.
