Okay, tonight had ups and downs.
We started at the breakwall and did ok...but slow. Got a gallon...others were doing well...half coolers full. We left at 11 or so. Came to the airport and found them on fire! 3 pulls of very short j pulls and we had all we needed for the year! 2.5 gallons per pull. Others that were still here had coolers full!!!
Happy smelting night!!!

Getting a few on the break wall. Wind and waves arent a deal breaker but but it could be a little nicer lol. we’re working for half a bucket in and hour -+. Turned off for about 20 min just to relax my arms. (Getting old) and we’re getting 6-18 a drop. Lots down at the airport. No word from Lester. Have a safe night all.

Lester was very slow last night a lot of empty scoops the most of any was 4... nonstop dipping for little over 2 hours and ended up with a weak half gallon of small basically all males...gave up at 11 when it would take 20 scoops for 1 smelt.. people were shoulder to shoulder

I was out on Park Point last night. Down near the airport. It was a rough night!!! In terms of the surf! It was way too big to not get wet. So I we went all in and got really wet!!!
But there were rewards! We caught smelt!!! Nothing crazy, but a solid 5 gallons for my buddy Kevin and myself!
Sandburr and his posse were with us and they did a bit better. They had 12 gallons and were still pulling when we left. It must be nice to have young guys pulling for you Sandburr...eh?
All in all, in was good, not great! The large waves were killing us!
We stopped by the Lester about midnight...things looked really slow there...so nobody missed much there.

We stopped when the buckets were level at 12 gallons. Just plain wore out. YES it had nothing to do with ME. Those young guys did all the work. It was weird. One pull there would be 12-14 and the next a gallon and a half. Pretty sure the waves and jumping up to miss them was not helping. I'm also not complaining!
Smelt for ALL!!!!!! I love seeing the faces of the people I deliver too.
