H Christiansen Co 4976 Arnold Rd, Rice lake township 218-724-5509 A lot of the pro's use their seines. They make them with or without the catch bag.

Where is park point? We haven't been up to sein for smelt in 20 years. I don't remember where to go. Any help would be great.

If anyone is interested. I have a Christensen seine with pocket , the (real deal) for sale-- Used once when my old buddy and I decided we were to old for this kinda stuff. It's all set up with PVC poles on the end, ready to go for $225. PM me if you want it.

Could someone please send me pictures how they've attached their seine net to their pvc pipes/poles... Maybe it's just me but I can't get the net tied on correctly. The nets flopping all of the place as we are pulling... It could also be that I have a Frabrill net... it's the black and heavier netting material. After watching some folks use nets made with nylon material, the load seems so much easier. Picture to vuex0076@gmail.com would be much appreciated. Thanks in advanced!

I had a black Frabil, and got rid of it after the first night, all it did was floated off the bottom. Went to the burlap type one, its pretty good, but its still a day and night difference from the Christensen.

my homemade is actually two 15 foot frabills joined on one end and four feet back along top an bottom. I used 1/4 inch nylon rope to lace together. Put little piece of heat shrink on lacing rope to help push end through netting. When opened it is 21 foot long with a 4 foot deep purse. The purse bows open to at least 3 feet when pulled. I did add 3 oz weights along bottom at each frabill weight location. Wheel weights crimped around bottom rope. Free almost any place that balance car tires. You can do the same thing with the Cabelas 25 foot net by simply folding in half and lacing the top and bottom edges 4 feet from the closed folded end. This ends up being a 17 foot net with a 4 foot deep purse in the middle. I think the Cabelas net is heavy enough you wouldn't have to add the extra weight www.wecrafts.com/images/share/IMG_2289.jpgwww.wecrafts.com/purse.pdf

Anyone interested on renting their pocket seine net out. I promise to return it with interest. I had a Frabill net and it's been unbearable watching others pull something in while my buddies and I watch. I will be up north more or likely Friday evening, maybe Thursday pending on a friends schedule. Message me if you'd be comfortable with it. TIA!

Have to add lots of weight to the Frabil, Minimum 3 additional ounces at each of the existing plastic weights. I ended up with six ounces.
Even though I have a pocket in my Frabil, there were always lots of smelt along the front outter edges of the net when we pulled in. Keeping the bottom of net scrapping the sand all the way out of the water is the key.
There were a couple of staright Frabils along side us last saturday, no pocket, and they did very well but watched them bring net completely onto beach before lifting it.
