Thanks again. Okay, I'll make sure we don't try to use it if we ever smelt in Duluth!

I was down working on my boat today. There was a boat out fishing today, I'm glad it wasn't me. they came in when it started raining with sick cold passengers A little nap and I'll check into the Karma - can't get by with a -1 -- I know how to set the numbers for stars- but not the karma

If you wanna check the waves out check this site if you haven't. alakesuperiorfishingcharter.com there's a web cam on the beach so you can see if your wasting your time driving up.

Change of plans on my end, getting called back to work and I need to get a bunch of things done tonight, so its a no go here. Gotta love the last minute call. Hoping I have everything done by tomorrow so I can hit it tomorrow night!

Had to post just to clear things up in Ashland. I drove up yesterday and and although we did get a few smelt, they are definitely not Rocking. We smelted all night into the morning, as a matter of fact we were the last group of the beach. All we had to show for was about 5 gallons. We left at 4:00 this morning. Most pulls were anywhere between 6-15 per pull. 3 pulls of 54, 95, 120 were our best and that didn't happen until about 3:00 this morning. I can teel you we had the most smelt of anyone and most people were off the beach by 1:00.

Mnwol, that's an awesome post. It had all the details people needed! The ashland posts have been real quiet this year. The info we have been getting has been coming in from anglers all bait and 2nd hand reports. So its good to hear something from someone that's actually been on the beach. I know 5 gallons is not a lot for ashland, but that's still a lot of meals. Thanks again for the report. And let us know when the mother load starts showing up there. People will want to hear that!

we went out Thursday night. The point had too much wave action so we switched to the Lester, I managed about a gallon and most people got smelt but you had to work hard for them. I'll be back Sunday night, hopefully the point is calm. I'll be bringing a friend with me, a seine, 2 dip nets and a lot of buckets

Think they will come in a little more tonight, was in Duluth this afternoon (had to get a dip net, seeing as I was hooked when I used Mailmans) and the temp by the lake was 73 in the car. Dont know which spot I am heading to but it will definately be somewhere!
